The Rhodes Heritage Area

Rhodes Village was declared a heritage Conservation Area in 1997. It is now known as the Rhodes Heritage Area. To conserve and preserve the significant architectural, aesthetic and historical features, building applications in Rhodes Village must comply with both South African heritage legislation and municipal bylaws.
