The Rhodes Information Centre (RIC) is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC) with a voluntary Board of Directors which oversees the business.   The RIC employs a full-time Sales Manager, Xolelwa Yaleko, who manages the office and shop, providing advice, contacts, local goods, and tourism information and booking services.   A number of gracious local volunteers help out in the RIC shop from time to time. 

The RIC was founded through the vision and generous donations of Mr Dave Kirkby who fell in love with Rhodes in 2014 and identified the need for a village hub that could provide tourism information services.    Mr Kirkby formed a committee with local residents who shared his vision, bought the property which now houses the RIC, paid for the RIC’s start-up costs, and once the RIC NPC was sustainably operational with an independent Board, generously donated the property to the RIC NPC.

“Info” as it is fondly known locally, is the village’s well-loved drop-in spot on Muller Street, where local suppliers of bread, eggs, preserves, and cottage industries (from the farms, Rhodes, and Zakhele), consign their goods for sale; where residents pop in for chats, supplies and drop-off-and-fetch services; and where Rhodes visitors arrive in for advice, supplies, fly fishing permits, and events information.
