The iconic Walkerbouts Inn is a venue for the discerning. It is a veritable Home-from-home and is located in an elevated position in Rhodes with fine views across the village, the Bell River valley and the surrounding mountains.
The well-established front garden features a duck pond surrounded by a variety of Red-Hot Poker species (Kniphofia). Watching the ducks going about their daily lives and the antics of territorial Malachite sunbirds while feeding on the nectar-rich flowers in the summer adds to the ambiance one seeks in a remote mountainous retreat.
Walkerbouts has a variety of comfortable en suite accommodation options, ranging from spacious Family rooms to overnight “cubby-holes” for single travellers and of course, a rondawel in the garden for Honeymooners!
The spacious Sun Room that can seat 60 diners, is regularly used for conferences and occasional small weddings as well as being ideally suited for annual events such as the Dirt Road Wild Trout Festival dinners to being used as a surgery for the Rhodes Animal Care project.

At the heart of all this is the Thankshalot Pub, rich in history and memorabilia but with walls that can’t talk!
